| I finished crocheting this sweet baby blankie for 2 baby Mummas I love. |
I'm busy de-cluttering the house these past few weeks, I can't believe how many bags of clothes, bags, shoes, fabric, toys, kitchen paraphernalia, empty cardboard boxes etc have left this house. It feels great to be taking stock of what's in the cupboards & getting rid of what isn't needed or has been outgrown. It's amazing how much clutter can accumulate in so little time, just all the bits of paper, artwork, odds & ends.
This is how I came to be making a postage stamp quilt. I have been amassing fabric scraps for the past few years, just putting them in baskets & boxes. Now I'm being ruthless, cutting all the offcuts into tiny square & binning the scraps. A great way to use up scraps and hopeful end up with a pretty, one of a kind quilt (like I need another one), also a way to look at all the beautiful fabric I have played with as of late.
I have discovered that I have enough doilies/granny embroidery & lace tablecloths to last me forever!! Time to stop collecting those me thinks, & work out what to do with the ones I have. Vintage sheets on the other hand, can you every have too many of those? Soft, worn, 100% cotton, floral, pretty colours & the best thing for backing quilts.
I've been looking at my cd's, I never play them, but should I keep them for Lil & Sage? Perhaps they will think its cool in 10 years time to have a "retro" collection of 90's grunge. Books, how does one get rid of books...probably not happening in my home, a house with out books is missing a bit of soul :)
Kind of like a house with no colour, I love that our home is bursting with colour everywhere you lay your eyes, rainbow pillows, pretty artwork, kids drawings, a map of the world, fabric, the spines of books, rubik's cubes, garlands, toys, dolls, plates, cups....colour oozing everywhere. I love it.
Time to roll..kinder pick up :)
