part 1
We've been enjoying some beautiful spring weather and marveling at the gorgeous blossoms in our garden. Not to mention the stunning bird song we hear all day. But alas I have had a rival to the bird song, know as Lily's screaming. I have been trying since Monday to get her to sleep in her cot, this involves the technique known as controlled crying...I think it is more like breaking her spirit & mine. It is very difficult on both of us as we are used to resting together & Lily falling asleep on our bed, but after Lil fell off the bed last week I have to change the arrangements. So if I have been a little out of the communication loop this is why. It pretty much takes all the energy out of me.
part 2
A few days have passed since I wrote the first piece of this blog entry, the cot sleeping is over. Lily somehow threw herself over the side of the very high cot and crawled down the hallway, up until now she had been shuffling to get around but she was actually crawling! She was physically unhurt. I am now terrified of the cot and Lily's ability to get out of it. We are now returning to co-sleeping! Okay enough about that.
I have been exploring the new neighbourhood and catching up with my old friends, Jo, Gypsy & Cindy. Lily gets really happy when she sees Kia & Liam too. We were going to go to our first playgroup on friday but it ws cancelled, so next friday it is. I could only get into a group that has children aged one & a half, which is okay, although we would prefer to go to our old playgroup in st kilda, but it's a little to far to travel. I think Lily will be happy to spend time with children of any age.
We spent last sunday in port melbourne, visiting with Grandma & Grandpa which is always fun. Greta, Olivia & Heidi arrive tonight so we are very excited about spending some time with them and getting to meet cousin Heidi.
Roger & Stellan are at this very minute starting on the kitchen, they have arrived back from Bunnings with many flat pax. Yippeeee, we will be able to cook again.
Mum & Phoenix came up yesterday for a BBQ, it was a glorious sun filled day, we sat on the little balcony and relaxed in the beauty of our blossoming yard.

Hi Simmone, just discovered your blog and enjoy what I read so far. We have some sleep issues at the moment too. Still co-sleeping with a baby balcony. That is ok, if she did sleep that is. She goes to bed at seven to wake up one hour or so later to be up for up to 6!!! After getting really stressed about it, now we try to take it with humour. Getting lots done during night this way.
We got engaged 3 weeks ago. I am already over the planning and thinking about taking a run...
