First post in August & in Upwey!

Settlement day

Loungeroom

Potbelly room

Wow, 2 weeks have flown by since we picked up the keys to our new home; first week was kinda stressful finishing off the packing, actually moving (took the removalist around 7 hrs!), then unpacking and finding new homes for everything. All the while the rain pelted down and snow fell in the nearby hills. Lucky for Stell & I we had our lovely parents helping us all the way, with cleaning, packing, sorting, stacking, preparing food, chopping wood, changing washers, sawing doors, painting, entertaining Lily (Phoenix & Ings both make great babysitters), you name it they were doing it.

Stell painted the 2 bedrooms and main lounge room and had carpeted laid also, the overall look is fantastic, an off white for the walls and ceiling, with a white gloss trim. The plush carpet is a warm brown/grey shade hard to describe but looks awesome.

Week one flew by, and now week two has almost finished and we 3 are all feeling great about our new home.

Our main source of heat has been the creaky, character filled old potbelly, (which requires much wood chopping) up until yesterday when we had the ducted heating inspected and to our delight it works, and my do you need it out here. It's icy in theses here hills.

We have dogs on either side of the fence and Lily is fascinated by them, she wakes up every morning and says woof woof. So I take her outside to our glorious backyard to greet the dogs, as soon as they bark she too says woof woof, very cute. Lily has adjusted very well to the new place, she loves having 3 different rooms to play in, all of which she can see the beautiful trees and ever present birds. I hear a chorus of kookaburras every morning and the air is so fresh and crisp.

Stell went back to work this week, and has been doing okay so far with the commute. Lily and I have been getting up early each morning with Stell and driving him to the station, which is less than 5mins away in the car. It takes him around and hour to get to work which is not so bad. Lil is enjoying picking up Daddy in the evenings and watches eagerly for the train. She gets the hang of thing very quickly. We have had lots of visitors since moving in, and everyone is welcome, just remember hats and woolies.

Happy girl

Ah there is so much more I could say but will leave it for now, I have a few photos, but they really don't do justice to the stunning surrounds we have. More soon.....

Hi Simmone
Finally thought of what I wanted to say on the phone about the cold weather in Upwey! You don't have to go out in the rain and chop wood now with the gas yeah!!!
Love your blog, Lilian xxx

Hey guys!
well done on the move - it's definately hard work, but just think - now you don't have to do another one, potentially for ever! Congrats, it's almost too awesome for words!
love to you all, catch up soon!
