Things have been a bit hectic around home lately. With Sage turning on quite a few tantrums daily & Lily so eager to have ever moment of her at home day witnessed by Stell or I. Whew....it looks like the fams just arrived home..blog later..
Part 2
Family just arrived home after taking Bongo the badass rooster to his new home at a farm in Emerald. They picked up a new little hen for our flock, to make a total of three chicks almost ready to lay. It seems our existing chicks aren't so friendly at taking to the new chick. Looks like she will need some extra love.
I spent the morning cleaning the coop, turning the compost & doing a little gardening, Yesterday I mowed just before it rained, so everything is looking so pretty & spring fresh.
Somedays i'm feeling a little over whelmed by all the tasks I have to perform, no more than any other mother, just missing a little me time. Still sewing when I can, looking forward to the 3 markets I have scheduled. May book into a couple more, I have a lot of stock to sell, hopefully people will be buying handmade for x-mas. Thinking about studying something, so hard to decide on a topic though when I have so many interests.
Lily has now added Karate to her extra activities & goes twice a week and loves it. Sage was keen at first but wants to wait till next year to enrol in classes. Both are still loving swimming weekly. School holidays coming up soon, I'm happy that Stellan will be home for 9 days of them, maybe we'll take a mini break somewhere coastal.
Mid afternoon, time for some food & a cuppa. Then I'll see what the afternoon brings.
Creating paradise takes alot of work :)
Part 3
New little hen goes missing under house, didn't enjoy the pecking it got from the other 2 hens. Lily makes a lost poster and tapes it to the fire hydrant in the street. Sage decides it's warm enough to run in the sprinkler (tank water of course), um it's kinda not warm enough!
Stellz hangs out in the yard, waiting for the return of the little brown hen.
Part 4
Then there were pyjamas...
Part 5
Little chicken came out from under the house around sunset. We took her down to the coop where the other 2 hens were getting ready to roost for the night. Unfortunately they were bullies & pecked new hen & wouldn't let her up on the perch :( By dark they had all assumed there own positions and were feigning sleep. I feel sad for new chick & hope she makes it through the first night in her new digs.
Brownies were baked, jelly was put in the fridge to set.
Sage of course changed into another set of pj's, ahhhh! A bit crazy making this obsession with matching clothes, the need for particular ones & the unusual wearing of up to 5 different pairs of jammies a day!
Dinner was eaten, baths, bottles, off to bed, now bedtime story being read. The Lion, the witch & the wardrobe this week, (read by Stell). I'm looking forward to crocheting, peppermint tea & a tv series I'm watching & enjoying Orange is the new black. I think Stell will be looking forward to chilling with his rubix cube :) It's been a good weekend, now to recharge for the week ahead.
