Well ever since I clicked over to 41 I've been under the weather, hope it's nothing to do with the age and just more to do with a pesky cold that has now morphed into tonsillitis.
Boohoo poor me! Oh well a good excuse to stay indoors, read books, drink tea, cook yummy food, stitch & sew a little & hang out with the family.

I read the brilliant "Cloudstreet" by Tim Winton and enjoyed every moment, I miss the Pickles & Lambs now the books done. What a crazy bunch, makes my family seem not so unusual. Although I really loved that these two family remained together through out all the hardships they faced.
I'm now settling in to read Ruth Parks "The Harp in the South". Enjoying some classic Aussie fiction.
I spent some time this weekend resurrecting a beautiful handmade patchwork quilt. Jo had found the quilt (just the top panel) at the oppy and gifted it to me, knowing I would love the beauty of all the tiny squares that had been so well hand stitched together. So I began the task of mending all the tears and broken stitches. Next Lily and I pinned the quilt top to some lush new bamboo wading, it was so nice to have Lil interested in what I was doing and joining in.

Next up I stitched on top of every seam, making the quilt strong and good as new. The following day Lily and I pinned a vintage sheet to the underside, pinned down the binding and I whipped it together. Now its sitting proud and peachy perfect on my bed, with me laying toasty and warm underneath.

| of course a few doilies were incorporated too |
Lil & I also did some more sewing together making 3 small dolls from pipe cleaners, beads and fabric. Very cute but mysteriously missing, so no pic to show.
Stell fixed Sages computer and many games were played by the boys.
Chickens were shown the world, well the backyard anyway. Where they played and peeped with the cheeky children.

I'm sure there was more, there's always more...and even though I've been feeling crummy twas a very nice weekend indeed!
