A little day out in the Hills

snagged from pinterest

Today we grabbed a dozen of our eggs and some little heart shaped carrot cakes that Lily & I baked yesterday & headed off to see Gypsy & Brad's new 10 acre farm in Yellingbo. Well as Lily said "it felt like we were going to a kingdom far, far away".  We took a few wrong turns along the way, drove passed many roadside stalls, selling fruit & flowers (one of my fav things about country drives, I just love roadside stalls) & countless, berry farms & vineyards. We didn't stop at any, just drove on, admired the scenery & had "rock lobster" B52's on repeat ( the kids latest must have song). And then we were there!

The place has so much potential and was once a thriving native plant cut flower farm. There are many beautiful plants & trees there, the main ones being protea. The trees all need major pruning and dead heading, much work, but the result will be way worth it. Gypsy certainly has her work cut out for her. The house is fantastic, a well laid out spacious, light filled home. It's actually is quite similar to  their last house.

We went exploring some of the property (way to vast to check it all out today) & Oscar & Lucy came for a walk too (the dogs), Lil's was ver excited to be walking Lucy. We stopped along the way & snacked on the delicious abundance of blackberries. A fun day, can't wait to visit again.

Next stop was Lily's first 4 yr old kinder session for the year; it starts back gradually with the first session lasting 1.5 hrs. Lily enjoyed seeing her friends & Sage & I stayed too. Of course when it was time to go Sagey didn't want to leave. He's really going to miss Lily this year, they are inseparable.

Well no pics today, just words :)
